Travelers
by Brian Matthew Kessler
| We ride alone, | ||
| yet together. | ||
| We are opposite, | ||
| yet equal,
the same. | ||
| We are infinite, | ||
| two,
one, none. | ||
|
|
||
| We are everywhere, | ||
| anywhere,
there, here, nowhere. | ||
|
|
||
| We are not now, | ||
| but constantly. | ||
| We were then, | ||
| but never were,
never will be, always will be.
| We ride two paths, | ||
| but only one path. | ||
| We ride in opposite directions, | ||
| but the same direction. | ||
| We are never moving, | ||
| always moving. | ||
| We are never together, | ||
| never apart. | ||
| We have two destinations, | ||
| there is only one destination. | ||
| We have two destinies, | ||
| really one destiny,
but nothing destined. | ||
|
|
||
| We are skeptics, | ||
| yet we believe. | ||
| We are ignorant, | ||
| yet we know. | ||
| We are baffled, | ||
| yet we understand. | ||
| We have no morals, | ||
| yet we are not immoral. | ||
| We do not judge, | ||
| yet we make judgements. | ||
| We deny the supernatural, | ||
| yet declare everything magick. | ||
| We are speakers of lies, | ||
| but we speak only truth. | ||
| We are never evil, | ||
| not neutral,
nor good, but ourselves.
|
|
||
| We are the followers of folly, | ||
| yet wisdom. | ||
| We are ride into darkness, | ||
| but we head toward light. | ||
| We quit the night, | ||
| we seek the light. | ||
| We seek the night, | ||
| for therein lies the light,
the dawn of a new day, a new age.
| We are the paradox, | ||
| yet there is no contradiction. | ||
